One Victim in Early Morning Fire
Fire in Hermosa Beach produces discovery
of one victim
Hermosa Beach, California; 06-16-09:
At 0411 in the morning Hermosa Beach
Fire Department was dispatched to a
report of smoke and flame located at
2100 block of Loma Dr.
Upon arrival the 2nd story of the
structure was well involved with flames
thru the windows and threatening one
unoccupied structure. Hermosa
Firefighters made entry and found one
victim with no apparent signs of life.
The victim was extricated and
resuscitation efforts were attempted but
the victim was pronounced dead at the
scene at approx 0451 in the morning. The
exact cause of death is sill being
determined by HBPD and L.A. County
Coroners office.
There are suspicious circumstances
indicated in the fire and the victim's
death that are still being investigated
by HBFD Arson Investigators and HBPD.
The fire was extinguished without
incident with help from Manhattan Beach,
Redondo Beach and Torrance Fire
Departments.
