Theft from Vehicle

An employee was arrested for stealing an IPod from a vehicle. The IPod was found by the suspect under the front seat while cleaning the vehicle and then tried to sell it to another employee.

Theft from Unlocked Garage

Televisions, computer monitors and golf equipment was taken from an unlocked garage between midnight and 05:30 AM. A possible suspect is a male Hispanic, 20 years, 5-09, 150 lbs, black hair and brown eyes wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt and khaki pants.

A suspect smashed a vehicle window and took a red clutch purse, with credit and gift cards. Occurred between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM.

Shoplift from Store

Suspect entered store and looked at an IPOD 16 Gig cell phone. The store employee was distracted and the suspect left the store with the phone.

Bank Robbery

Suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note and escaped with currency. The suspect is a black female, 40 years old, 5-06, 190, blondish gold nappy hair, light brown skin wearing  dark pants and big brown sweater and sunglasses. Suspect had on several layers of clothing.

Suspect smashed the back window and took a purse from the vehicle. Occurred between 0930-1000 AM.

In addition to the following crime reports please be advised that a catalytic converter was stolen from a Toyota 4Runner on March 3 that was parked on Meadows adjacent to Mira Costa High School, sometime during school hours. It's another thing to be aware of.

3/3/08 - 3/4/08     7:30 p.m. - 7:45 a.m.      1100 block of Harkness & 1800 blk of 12th Street

(Vehicle Burglaries) Victim's two vehicles were parked and locked on the streets when unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver's side window and stole the GPS units, one from the windshield and the other from the dashboard.

3/3/08 - 3/4/08   4:30 p.m. - 5:45 a.m.  200 block of Johnson Street

(Vehicle Burglary) The victim parked his vehicle in front of his house and used the keyless remote to lock it. He returned to find the driver's side door ajar. Unknown suspect(s) entered the vehicle by unknown means and took a briefcase containing gas cards and glasses from the second row of seats.

3/1/08 - 3/4/08              10 a.m. - 3 p.m.         300 block of 7th Street

(Graffiti) Unknown suspect(s) wrote graffiti using a red marker on the garage door.

03/5/08                         Midnight - 2 p.m.   700 block of Rosecrans Av

(Vehicle Theft) Unknown suspect(s) stole the catalytic converter from the victim's Toyota Previa Van which was parked and locked on the street. Suspect(s) removed bolts and sawed through an exhaust pipe to remove it.

REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE/VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

 

The St. Patrick's Parade is on March 15th from 11 AM to 1PM. The parade route starts at Pier and Valley and goes West on Pier to Hermosa and then South to 9th St.

 

Volunteers are needed from 9AM to approximately 1:30 PM to assist with traffic control along the parade route. Volunteers will get a green St. Patrick's Day staff t-shirt for their efforts.

 

Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age and can stand at a location for several hours. If you can help, call the Community Resources Department at (310) 318-0280.
