THEFT - 484PC - A subject was attempting to steal a bicycle. The owner of the bike caught the subject just before he was able to leave with the bicycle. The owner was not desirous of prosecution.

BURGLARY - 459PC - Residential burglary occurred. The suspect gained entry into the residence through an open window. The suspect made off with jewelry, Laptop and other miscellaneous items. NOTE: Remember before leaving your home to secure all windows and doors. Please remember to record the serial numbers of your property in case it is stolen.  You have a better chance of getting it back.

STOLEN VEHICLE - 10851VC - A scooter was stolen. It was last seen being pushed N/B on PCH by an intoxicated MWA in his 20's . The scooter was later located. No suspect(s) were located.

BURGLARY - 459PC  - Three MBA were apprehended and arrested for commercial burglary. Video footage showed them stealing alcohol from two local grocery stores.

Two suspects arrested for No Bail warrants after being contacted for commercial burglary. The suspects had numerous stolen items in their vehicle. One suspect was also charged with possession of a controlled substance (Crystal Meth).

Activity for July 1st to 7th 2012

July 4th emergency activity had a significant impact on this week's totals. The Fire Department staffed an additional unit and responded to 31 emergency incidents; additionally, personnel handled 25 fireworks-related incidents and six (6) miscellaneous citizen contacts. These two numbers are approximations, as these came fast and furious in the form of witnessing illegal use of fireworks and attempting to locate the source and in the form of direct reports from citizens as we patrolled the city with multiple fire units.

 

Both fires were residential structure fires: one (1) in Hermosa Beach was confined to the cooking area (stove/oven) and one (1) in Manhattan Beach involved a garage. All four (4) hazardous condition incidents involved damaged power lines.

 

"Emergency Medical/Rescue" definitions:

  • Abdominal: Patients with non-traumatic abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, etc.
  • Behavioral: Patients overdoses on legal and/or illegal drugs, intoxicated, and/or suffering from psychosis.
  • Cardiac: Heart attacks, chest pain.
  • Environmental: Heat and cold-related emergencies, allergic reactions.
  • General Illness: Flu-related symptoms or non-specific illness complaints.
  • Neurological: Seizure, stroke, decrease level of consciousness.
  • Respiratory: Trouble breathing from various causes.
  • Trauma/Injury: Non-medical emergency. Physical injury to the body.
  • No Complaint: Dispatched to an incident, but subject had no medical complaints.
