Transient walking with two guns exposed out of bag. PD contacts the transient and discovers that the guns were loaded BB guns. The two guns were taken and held by PD.

Special notes:   

The city has been experiencing a high volume of unlocked vehicle thefts.  Suspects are entering unlocked vehicle and stealing personal items and electronics.  These thefts are occurring city wide, during evening hours.  (LOCK YOUR CAR, PLEASE!).

Activity for July 28th to August 4th 2012

The fire response involved a multi-family residential building with a fire reported in the cooking area. Timely response by HBFD units confined the fire to the cooking area. The lesson learned in this situation is: Don't leave cooking food unattended. HBFD units also provided auto/mutual aid to Manhattan Beach on seven (7) incidents, five (5) medical emergencies and two (2) cancellations. The department responded into Redondo Beach on two (2) occasions, once to a medical emergency and once cancelled while en route. Manhattan Beach units responded into Hermosa Beach to assist on two (2) medical emergencies and were cancelled on one (1) auto/mutual aid request. Redondo Beach units responded to and assisted Hermosa Beach units on a traffic collision.

 

 

"Emergency Medical/Rescue" definitions:

  • Abdominal: Patients with non-traumatic abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, etc.
  • Behavioral: Patients overdoses on legal and/or illegal drugs, intoxicated, and/or suffering from psychosis.
  • Cardiac: Heart attacks, chest pain.
  • Environmental: Heat and cold-related emergencies, allergic reactions.
  • General Illness: Flu-related symptoms or non-specific illness complaints.
  • Neurological: Seizure, stroke, decrease level of consciousness.
  • Respiratory: Trouble breathing from various causes.
  • Trauma/Injury: Non-medical emergency. Physical injury to the body.
  • No Complaint: Dispatched to an incident, but subject had no medical complaints.

Two suspects approached a female employee at the rear of a business bordering a neighborhood. They demanded she take them to the safe. When the employee refused they threw her to the ground. Both  suspects fled the scene.

Unknown suspect(s) broke into vehicle and stole a purse containing cash, a Tiffany diamond and platinum engagement ring, vintage locket, IPad and house keys.

Unknown suspect stole a laptop computer, briefcase and AMC gift cards from vehicle. No sign of forced entry. Suspect in custody.

Unknown suspect smashed vehicle window and stole a purse from the front passenger seat.
