Santa makes a two-night stop in Hermosa Beach. 


Wednesday, December 7th and 14th
 Santa Hat on Beach

It is time for the chance for HBNW Block Captains to invite Santa and His Helpers to come visit your neighborhood.


Block Captains, please email Tracy if you are interested in hosting your block.  Santa will begin his first appearance at 6p.m. and spend 20 minutes on each block beforing moving on.  There will be 5 block appearances and a stop at Pier Plaza per night. 
We have 8 spots available for you to sign up for.

Santa and his Sleigh may come visit on either Wednesday December 7th or December 14th between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

After we get the list of blocks participating we will send a schedule so you may let your block know when Santa will arrive.

November 9, 2011



600 block of 30th St

Vehicle Theft - Overnight, victims 2005 Silver Toyota Prius was taken.  The owner believes they may have dropped their keys next to the vehicle.  ** HBNW was notified that Block Captain put out an email alert to all neighbors.  Great communication!




1600 PCH

Burglary - Victim reporting that his wallet with cash was stolen from a locked locker in the gym locker room.  Unknown suspects forced open the locker and took the wallet.  ** Suggestion: only bring your gym ID with you to workout.

Petty Theft - Victim left her purse covered by a sweater on the table while she danced.  When she returned her purse was missing.  No suspect info.

Ralph's Grocery Store

Petty Theft -  Victim left their IPAD unattended for a few moments and when they returned for it was gone.  No suspect info.




Valley Park

Robbery - 13 year old male victim was threatened with physical violence by two16 year old white males who subsequently took the victims skateboard.  Suspect #1 was a white, male, approximately 5'11, 16 years old, thin build and wearing a grey, pull over sweatshirt, with yellow lettering and tan pants. Suspect #2 was a white, male, approximately 5'11, 16 years old, thin build and wearing a blue pull over sweatshirt, tan pants and a red/ green/ and yellow beanie.  The skateboard was described as an "Arbor" skateboard, tan in color with a black bottom. There is a white, skeleton wearing a sombrero, printed on the bottom of the board.

Call of a possible DUI driver S/B Hermosa at Herondo.  Vehicle was located and stopped and the driver arrested for DUI.




1301 Hermosa Ave/parking structure

Petty Theft - Reporting Party reported an IPOD, Pokémon cards and a GPS unit had been taken from his unlocked vehicle.





Call of a possible DUI driver north bound PCH swerving from lane to lane.  Vehicle subsequently stopped and driver arrested for DUI.

2000 block of PCH

Burglary - Victim reported that two gold Krugerrand coins along with several other coins were stolen from his residence.  Other items of value were untouched.  No sign of forced entry.

10/31/11 - 11/2/11      8:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.             

1800 block of 5th St

(Theft from Garage) Unknown suspect(s) stole a rare bicycle from the attached residential garage. A side door to the garage is kept unlocked.


11/5/11 - 11/6/11        8 p.m. - 8 a.m.                       

700 block of Center Pl

(Theft from Garage) Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's open garage and stole a bicycle, bicycle lock and a DVD player.


11/4/11 - 11/7/11        12 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.                

600 block of Aviation Way

(Vandalism) Unknown suspect(s) entered a construction site and damaged low voltage and electrical wiring.


11/5/11                        5:50 p.m.

4300 block of Highland Av

(Garage Burglary) A male suspect who was accompanied by two other males, was seen taking an unlocked bicycle from an open garage. The three males were detained by officers shortly after and the suspect that stole the bicycle was arrested.


11/6/11 - 11/7/11        11:30 p.m. - 5:45 a.m.           

Westport St

(Theft from Vehicle) The victim parked his vehicle in front of his residence and may have left it unlocked. Unknown suspect(s) stole a laptop computer from inside the vehicle. Three additional vehicles on the street were discovered to have been left unlocked and rummaged through. The owners were contacted but there was no loss.


11/6/11 - 11/7/11        7 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.                  

Bridgeport St

(Theft from Vehicle) Unknown suspect(s) stole a cell phone, phone charger and credit card from the center console of the unlocked vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. The vehicle had been rummaged through.


11/6/11 - 11/7/11        9 p.m. - 7:50 a.m.                  

Bridgeport St

(Burglary from Vehicle) The victim parked and locked his vehicle in front of the residence and set the alarm. The victim discovered the next morning the interior of the vehicle had been rummaged through, several items were sitting on the floorboard, and a gift card had been taken from the center console area. No suspects were seen or heard.


11/7/11                        3 a.m. - 7 a.m.

Stratford St

(Burglary from Vehicle) The vehicle was parked and locked in the driveway when unknown suspect(s) broke the locking mechanism on the driver door and entered the vehicle. Clothes that had been inside the vehicle were found on the ground behind it and an iPad, cash and cigars were stolen from the vehicle. Another vehicle was also believed to have been entered, but it was unknown if there was any loss.


11/9/11 - 11/10/11      9 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.                  

1700 block of 10th St

(Burglary from Vehicle) The victim parked and locked his vehicle on the street near his residence. When he returned, he discovered the vehicle was propped up on crates, the driver's door was slightly ajar and the wheels and tires were missing from the vehicle. The front console had also been removed and was lying on the front seat of the vehicle. Some components from the console had been stolen including the GPS. No suspects were seen or heard but several lug nuts were found in the area.


10/20/11 - 11/8/11      12:01 a.m. - 3 p.m.                

1000 block of 9th St

(Mail Theft) Unknown suspect(s) stole a lap top computer from inside a package that had been delivered to the residence. The tape on the package appeared to have been broken.


11/6/11 - 11/8/11        9 p.m. - 7 a.m.                       

500 block of 35th St

(Vandalism) Two tires were slashed by unknown suspect(s) on two different occasions while the vehicle was parked in front of the residence.
