Welcome HBNW members!  We appreciate that you have supported this program for almost 6 years.  We hope to keep your continued interest by valueing your time.  The Crime Log and E-News will be kept brief.
 
The new layout for the Crime Log and E-News will have the weekly crime logs from Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. It will include a weekly article regarding awareness on happenings in Hermosa Beach.  

We want to express our deepest gratitude for all of the progress that the passionate volunteers have made in Disaster Preparedness Awareness.  Also, to the dedicated City of Hermosa Beach Staff and City Councel who continue to support this advancement.  There are quick links to contact any of the groups listed in the Contact Information box.  HBNW Website has up-to-date information too!

HBNW list crimes that our residents can learn from in order to TARGET HARDEN their home, car or neighborhood. This is a tool that is used to inform you about how the crime occurred, time of day and if there are any suggestions for the resident to learn from the crimes selected to further secure their home or car.

10-25-2011      5:35p.m.

200 block Culper Court

Burglary

The suspect is an ex-tenant. He returned to the location while the victim was out of state and stole unknown items from victim. Suspect gained entry to the residence through the attached garage.

10-26-2011     4:30p.m. - 6:30p.m.          

00 block 18th Street

Burglary 

On 10-26-2011, unknown suspect entered the victims residence and took items without permission.

1200 Block of 6th Street

Assault and Battery

26 year old son attacked his 60 year old mother. The son was arrested for battery.  FYI - An assault is an unlawful attempt, coupled with a present ability, to commit a violent injury on the person of another. A battery is any willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another.

Burglary 

Unknown suspect  reaches in through a doggie door to unlock side door makes unlawful entry into residence and takes several items without permission.

10/18/11         9 a.m. - 4:50 p.m.                         200 block of Rosecrans Place

(Theft from Garage) Unknown suspect(s) stole a bicycle from inside a garage. The garage door had been closed by the victim, but was later found open. A skateboard that did not belong to the homeowner was found inside the garage.

10/19/11                 2 p.m. - 3:20 p.m.                  300 block of 19th St

(Burglary from Garage) Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's open garage and stole a bicycle, a bicycle helmet and a skateboard.

Area 2

10/20/11 - 10/21/11   5p.m. - 7:20a.m.                1300 block of 8th St

(Burglary from Vehicle) Unknown suspect(s) pried the driver's side door handle to gain entry to the vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Suspect(s) took several sets of keys, garage openers, phone chargers, an iPad and paperwork from the glove compartment.

10/23/11 - 10/24/11   6:30 p.m. - 8 a.m.                   900 block of Duncan Av

(Theft from Vehicle) Unknown suspect(s) stole a wallet, two bags and their contents from an unlocked vehicle that had been parked in the driveway.

10/24/11     8:30 a.m. - 4:55 p.m.

1200 block of 10th St

(Residential Burglary) Suspects entered into an unlocked residence and stole a credit card and checkbook. A witness observed two male white suspects in the patio area of the residence, who quickly walked out of the area, out of sight. The first suspect is approximately 17-18 years of age, 6 feet tall, thin build, with brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is approximately 17-18 years of age, 5'8" tall, thin build, with curly brown hair, wearing dark pants and a white t-shirt.

10/24/11 - 10/27/11   9 a.m. - 6 p.m.  

300 block of 21st St

(Burglary from Garage) Unknown suspect(s) took a set of golf clubs from an unlocked storage room attached to the front of the residence.

10/26/11 - 10/27/11     11:30 p.m. - 10:30 a.m.     400 block of Marine Av

(Theft from Vehicle) The victim parked the vehicle in his driveway but may have left it unlocked. Unknown suspect(s) took a GPS, sun glasses, money and a key from the vehicle.

10/29/11 - 10/30/11   6:45 p.m. - 10:30 a.m.   1600 block of Gates Av

(Theft from Vehicle) The victim parked the unlocked vehicle in the driveway and returned to discover the vehicle had been ransacked. Unknown suspect(s) stole a gaming system, gift card and a camping knife.

10/28/11 - 10/29/11     10 p.m. - 10 a.m.  

700 block of 31st St

(Burglary from Vehicle) Unknown suspect(s) shattered the front passenger window of the vehicle and stole a GPS device from the front passenger seat.

Area 4

10/28/11 - 10/29/11 10:30 p.m. - 7:45 a.m.           600 block of 11th St

(Theft from Vehicle) Unknown suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole a laptop computer, a bag and a briefcase with work folders inside. The items had been in the front passenger area of the vehicle.
